More than $350K in Grant Funding Available to Arkansas Businesses Needing New Technology
Monday, Jul 20, 2009
The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority announced today that $356,975 of Technology Transfer Assistance Grants (TTAGs) are now available through June 30, 2010, to Arkansas-based businesses needing to improve their technology infrastructure.
Beginning this month, businesses can apply for TTAGs, individual grants with a maximum value of $3,750, to help cover costs associated with the transfer of technology from an approved provider to an Arkansas company.
"Manufacturers in this state must be as technologically sound as possible to remain competitive in today’s business climate,” said Dan Curtis, director of
Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions. “TTAGs help manufacturers cover costs associated with technology needs such as software and consultancy, helping small and mid-sized manufacturers receive the critical updates they need.”

More About TTAG
Funding for TTAG is provided by Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions ($200,000) and state appropriations ($156,975). Created in 1994, TTAG strives to assist Arkansas enterprises in the improvement of products or processes through the transfer of technical solutions to technology-based, industry-driven problems, thus enhancing that enterprise’s competitiveness.
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis and broadly defined to encourage submissions that reflect the greatest potential for project success.
All Arkansas businesses from all industries and of all sizes are encouraged to apply. Applicants should include one or more technology transfer resource providers who possess or have the capability to locate innovative technology to transfer to a specific Arkansas-based enterprise. Each project must have a time frame of no longer than 90 days.
