Purpose
The program provides incentives to Arkansas industry for their participation in applied technology research. A goal is to encourage investment by industry in a center to address specific projects of the private sector partner using Arkansas colleges and universities.
Program Description
The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority's Centers for Applied Technology Program is a competitive effort to support applied technology in areas of advanced materials and manufacturing systems; agriculture, food and environmental sciences; biotechnology, bioengineering and life sciences; and, information technology. The benefits of establishing a center is that an income tax credit equal to 33% of qualified research expenditures may be allowed to an Arkansas taxpayer who invests in an active project under research and development programs offered by the Arkansas ScienceĀ &Technology Authority.
Eligible Users
The proposed center must be specific in one of the four stated applied technology areas and must be submitted by an Arkansas college or university.
How to Participate
A center proposal must meet the criteria detailed in program rules and guidelines available from the Authority.
Evaluation
The Research & Commercialization Committee of the Board of Directors is responsible for the evaluation of eligible proposals by peers. Final decisions are made by the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority.
