New Name. Same Commitment to Serve.

Since 1983, the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority has served Arkansans by bringing the benefits of science & technology to our state. The agency has worked to prepare the citizens of Arkansas with the tools necessary to compete and prosper in a rapidly changing global economy.

On May 27, the agency took the next best step in that process. During a special legislative session called by Governor Asa Hutchinson, the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority merged with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission to become AEDC’s Division of Science & Technology.

The governor and legislatures, as well as leadership and staff of both agencies agree this was the best decision to serve the interests of all Arkansans. AEDC’s Division of Science & Technology is committed to continue the good work that ASTA started more than thirty years ago.
